It was clean, the staff was very kind, plus the service was good.

Climate control, flat-screen television, and a safe box available in the standard twin room. Nice, courteous staff with smiling face.

I had a fairly nice stay at this affordable hotel which offers plenty of spacious rooms. The staff were courteous and polite, and the location is fantastic. The food options were also quite nice, and the service included safe parking.

The staff were friendly and professional, and helpful. The room and the entire hotel was spotlessly clean. There were good restaurants and shops within walking distance, yet the hotel was in a quiet spot.
The breakfast was the usual buffet fare, not really worth having. Parking on site is a little misleading - from 8.30am in the morning you need to display parking vouchers. The hotel gives you two of these when you arrive, but those only cover you till 10.30am. If you want parking till checkout or later you have to buy more parking time. It's cheap at 0.60 ringgit per hour, but his arrangment was not very clear from the hotel description on Booked.net. As this is a hotel you are unlikely to access without a car, it should be clearer. There is, however, cheap parking just at the end of the street (about 5 ringgit per entry). On the whole this was a small problem, not a big one.

The family room had WiFi and a kettle, facilities worked for us. The location was nice, for example, a 16th century Portuguese fort was just a short walk away from the hotel. We found it in a particularly good area close enough to Dataran Pahlawan, Mahkota Parade, Taming Sari, Fort A-Formosa, St Paul Hill, Jonker St and all attractions, restaurants and shopping malls and malls during weekdays.

Comfortable overall experience. Fairly clean, fantastic value hotel, the location was good and easy just off tourist areas, the main tourist spots in Melaka city and the historical Melaka. The rooms with a nice view.
Not nice area.

Booked both the Premier Family Room With Sea View and Basic Family Room with Sea View for my family. Both rooms and their sizes are reasonable and good for families with children but I booked too late (one week in advance) so the prices did not justify for the standard and was disappointed.
1.The morning breakfast. Most of the food was finished by 8.45 am even though the breakfast timing was to 10 am. 2. The bathtub need plumbing as choked and the water will rise up from the drainage after every shower. The whole toilet floor was always wet.

Clean Room
1. Staff failed to keep their promise to follow up on our request. We asked for extra pillows at about 4 pm. We returned to the hotel at 9.15 pm and again told the staff the pillows were not sent to the room. The staff said the hsk staff will be here in 10 minutes. When we were fast asleep we were disturbed at about 11 pm by several knocks on the door by a man delivering the pillows. We all lost our sleep. 2. Similarly the same staff promised to send someone to unlock the safe but nothing was done until we checked out. 3. When we checked in, we were told the breakfast will start at 7 am. We went to the coffee house at 7 am but was told the breakfast will start at 7.30 am. We left without taking any breakfast and went to the nearest coffee shop. 4. We went to have the shower at about 5.30 am but the water was very cold. Obviously the heating source was not on.

The Syaz Meridien Hotel in Malacca was a fantastic choice for our 5-night stay. We had a wonderful experience with the delicious food and friendly staff. The personnel were extremely helpful throughout our stay. Additionally, the hotel's location was ideal as it was within walking distance of the popular lunch spot, Asam Pedas Junior.

The room was clean. The breakfast was more than enough.
The location of the hotel is a bit far, although we can reach some interesting places by walking. Other than that everything was ok.
